THIS is cool!
An interactive map from Epicurious showing what is fresh and grown locally in your area, by month. Ever wonder when you can expect local strawberries or winter squash? Want to be more purposeful about buying locally, but not sure what is available? Just click on a state and there it is, along with ingredient descriptions, shopping guides, recipes, and tips. Pretty neat, huh?! Well, I liked it, though on Fridays I can be easily entertained.
Enjoy!

Cool idea. Because you can’t tell just by going to the grocery or even some farmers market. One of ours sells stuff from other places. We like the all-local one more.
That is so true, if you’re not familiar with the local farmers, you have to ask at the FM to be sure it’s local.
Awesome resource but kind of depressing this time of year.
I know! Made me feel bad for North Dakota
Thank you for this. Anything that helps to insure that we’re purchasing fresh, local produce is a big help. Granted, living here means that we’re at the tail-end of our “fresh local” items but this is still a handy guide to have.
I hope we have one of those here in NZ
I’m liking this idea. It will be fun playing with this over the next few months seeing. Many thanks for the share!
Thanks for letting us know about this. The link is very helpful and I think it is a great idea. I hope you have a great day. Blessings…Mary
