It is wonderful to get away, gain perspective, refresh, and renew. Then again, there seems to be more laundry at the end of such an escape, and a feeling I may have missed something important. It is easy for the negative to creep in if you let it—stats/views fall off, out of the rhythm of cooking and writing every day (though I did plenty of cooking while away), coffee doesn’t seem to be helping get my mojo back either, but it’s only day 2.
Yesterday and today are planning days. Sometimes, it is hard to resist the impulse to just do when there is so much to do. Nike would not agree, but with four worthy projects to choose from each day while sipping morning’s first cup, there better be plan in place or willy-nilly becomes the operating procedure.
So what’s up?
In addition to testing recipes (a.k.a. feeding my family), photographing, and sharing such adventures with you (which seems like a full time job by itself), these additional projects include:
Reviewing the new Food 52 Cookbook by Amanda Hesser & Merrill Stubbs and Simply Truffles by Patricia Wells (stay tuned)
Developing a new design for Savoring Today (via Fine Lime Designs)
Writing an e-book about monthly and batch cooking
Contributing to The Eatery on Podcast Radio America as the Home Chef (click the link to listen to the Thanksgiving series)
Everyone is busy, so I try not to use that word much when someone asks me how I am; too often, it becomes an excuse to neglect people. From the calendar that sits before me, it sure looks like December will be abundant with activity though … Christmas is coming too!
Oh, and speaking of December, if you happen to pick up a copy of Fine Cooking Magazine Dec/Jan issue, check out page 22 for a little tidbit they included from me (very cool!).

Welcome back and I’m looking forward to your new webdesign. I’m in the middle of one too.
I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!
Heather
Thanks, Heather! I look forward to see yours as well
Woo hoo. That’s great news. I’m so looking for that in the grocery line for some light reading. Wait does that make me sound cheap? Sounds like you have some fun projects ahead.
I do the same thing, it’s better entertainment than the gossip magazines.
Wow you are busy plus add that to the coming Christmas season, well if its me I would not be able to handle those.
Ha! I’m not there yet, but I’m optimistic.
What a schedule, Wonder Woman! I don’t know how you do it. Love your new look and great news about about Fine Cooking Magazine, too. Congrats all way ’round!
Thanks, the new, new look will be up in January
These are all self-imposed deadlines, so if it gets too “wonderful”, I am not beyond letting things slide … sanity is the first priority
Welcome home and congratulations. Sounds like a very busy schedule…make a little time for yourself.
Congrats on being in Fine Cooking Magazine and I’m hanging in there!
