Hearth & Soul Hop at Savoring Today

Welcome to the Hearth and Soul Hop for July 31, 2012—the food carnival for and about food that not only nourishes our bodies, but our souls!

Were you wondering if we could sustain yet another week of highlighting peaches? Well, I was willing, but there were not enough peach recipes to justify a peaches-only highlight. Sad, but true. So this week I spied another theme I could sure use more of: Brilliance. Shortcuts and kitchen tricks to make life a little easier if not tastier. These posts are simply brilliant, at least they are to me. See if you don’t agree … visit all three. (Hmm, rhyming must be the result of peach withdrawal.)  ;)

Highlights from last week:

Homemade Red Wine Vinegar by Jens Natural Kitchen

Fastest, Easiest, Crispiest Hash Browns Ever by Premeditated Leftovers

Freezing Zucchini by Traditional Foods

Today I have shared with you two very refreshing summer smoothies that will quench your thirst and fill you up. This Peach and Orange Juice Smoothie tastes so smooth with an orange juice base and this Sun Dream Orange and Banana Smoothie is my favourite summer smoothie that I’ve ever tasted (and I’ve tried a lot) I actually crave this smoothie all the time. It’s a firm favourite with everyone who tries it.
They both contain seasonal ingredients that you should have no trouble getting hold of.Thank you so much for hosting.

Who would have thought of using a waffle maker for hash browns. This is always an interesting post.
