Hearth & Soul Hop at Savoring Today

Welcome to the Hearth and Soul Tuesday Blog Hop for June 11, 2013—the food carnival for and about food that not only nourishes our bodies, but our souls!

Our highlights from last week are all about berries welcoming summer with juicy, creative recipes. Seems only appropriate too with the temps reaching the 90’s all week here in Colorado. Yes, it’s a dry heat, but it’s still hot, so anything made with fresh berries is refreshing.

Just stopped in to see if your area was safe from the fires and I see from your comment with MJ that you are. It is terrible situation and I’m sorry that some of your friends have lost their homes.

Hi Judy! This is perfect. So many ideas for cooking. We are having very high temperatures here in Madrid too, so that rucula salad sounds especially appealing. Thanks for sharing :)

Thank you so much, MJ, you are such a dear! It has been a very rough week, several of my friends have lost their homes, the fire has been treacherous. Thankfully, it was not close to us at all geographically, but very close to our hearts as our friends are hurting. Thank you for checking on me and asking — so appreciate your thoughts.

So glad to hear that you and your family are safe! But very sorry to hear about anyone losing their home. :( That’s heartbreaking. Right now I think everyone in the southwest needs to get out and doing some rain dancing. We need rain desperately! I was in Louisiana last week and was quite jealous of all the GREEN and all of the rain. Of course they are complaining about getting TOO much rain. UGH! Well, take care of yourself and glad to hear your o.k. Hugs – MJ
