Hearth & Soul Hop at Savoring Today

Welcome to the Hearth and Soul Tuesday Blog Hop for July 16, 2013—the food carnival for and about food that not only nourishes our bodies, but our souls!

We are visiting a college with our daughter this week for orientation—the time is short and I am certain I haven’t savored nearly enough moments with her, but time has a way of marching on anyway. It is a bundle of mixed emotions to sort when your youngest gets ready to leave the nest, but there’s so much to do over the next month I don’t think there will be much time for sorting them all until she’s taken flight.

Our highlights from last week caught my eye for different reasons. I have been looking for a chicken lettuce wrap recipe to try for a while, I think I’ll start with this one. The copy cat Chick-fil-A sauce just makes me happy to find something better for my daughter than the regular stuff she likes so much—it’s a mom thing. And the roasted bell pepper almond cheese spread makes me want to find a cracker, or toast, or something to spread it on.

Good luck at orientation, I can hardly remember when mine was, so long ago. I like this idea of a blog hop, perhaps one of these days I will try to participate.
