It’s birthday season at our house (three in a row, just nine days apart), which means choosing between old favorites or new inspirations for our special treats. For my birthday last week, I opted for dinner out at Carrabba’s because I love their Sona de Chocolate—dark chocolate brownie, chocolate mouse, and whipped cream topped with a chocolate ganache. One dessert, five forks; the ideal way to enjoy a decadent dessert since there’s no pressure to finish it and there’s nothing left to sit on the counter tempting me day after day. Now my focus is on my husband’s and daughter’s birthdays just around the corner, so the highlights from last week are all about desserts worthy of a birthday celebration … I think you’ll agree.
